Following on from the successful completion of contracts for the Big Lottery Fund and the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens, we have been busy at GFA developing some new projects focusing on the local food sector in Bristol and other key local authority areas. It's great to have the opportunity to work at a city-wide level - which is often more hands on than is possible when working nationally - and its been really enjoyable getting to know the key organisations and practitioners better.
We have also started planning the delivery of a history project with a large allotments site in Bristol, supported by a recently approved Heritage Lottery Fund grant. To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Horfield and District Allotment Association, we will be working with the 450-plot site to capture information, images and plot-holders memories for a new online resource: more information to follow on this in due course.
And finally, we have been providing some support to a prospective green burial business - not necessarily an obvious area of work to be involved in, but nevertheless interesting and horizon-broadening!
We are looking forward to seeing what the new year holds for us all...
